Our league concept makes online poker competitive, challenging, and fun, even for Players who normally don’t play for real money. Let’s face it: current online play money poker games offer no real incentive to play well, which basically makes each game nothing but a showdown contest. Most Players don’t even realize they have a “fold” button and every hand gets shown down with maximum raises in each round. Now, that’s not poker!
By charging a fee per session and offering a big return for the session winners, OPL games are much more interesting to play. OPL brings realism to play money by challenging Players to compete for big cash prizes through superior poker play.
Here’s how the OPL works in a nutshell. All new registrations will get 3,000 chips to play with. Players can get their chip balances replenished only when their balance falls below 200 chips. At that time, 500 chips will be added to their accounts.
OPL software will track five key statistics and quantify them in real time in the leader boards. The following leader boards are used as a basis for determining league’s best overall Players:
Ring Game Earnings: top ring game winners for session
Shootout Prize Money: top winners in shootouts
Tournament Prize Money: top multi-table tournament winners
Final Table Appearances: made it to final table most times
Frequency: recognizes Playerwith most total games during session
The top 50 leaders of each category (except Final Table Appearances, in which only top 10) are given a point total for their accomplishment. The OPL Players with most cumulative point totals are regarded as the best league Players as shown by the Overall PlayerStandings, which is the all-encompassing leader board. The leaders in this category are truly the MVP’s of the OPL.
The entire session’s activities lead up to the Session Finals. At the end of each two-week session, the top 50 Players in Overall Players Standings will qualify for the Session Finals. We will reward the highest finishers for their effort throughout the session by giving them a chip advantage in the tournament. The name of the game is No Limit Texas Hold’em. The Players who make the final table of the Session Finals will win part of over $5,000 of cash prizes. The winner of this tournament will be proclaimed the OPL session champion
